There are many low-cost airlines serving this destination. Return flights from most major European cities can be as cheap as 120 Euro/100 GBP if purchased in advance.
Transportation on the island is relatively cheap and easy. There are plenty of public buses, which can take you to most of the tourist attractions on the island. Renting a car is very convenient and gives tourists independence. It is not expensive, and driving in Tenerife is not complicated as there usually is not much traffic. In high season it is good to book a car even a few weeks in advance.
