FAQ

You ask, we answer

What are the wind conditions in Tenerife?

In autumn/winter season trade winds stabilise and blow from NE with average strength 10-15 knots.

Often the wind is 20 knots or stronger at our spot. Even with 15 knots wind the waves build up quite big and long.

Is it a good dinghy sailing spot for beginners?

Our spot can be pretty demanding, but every year we have many beginners.

If you are a fit person who loves adrenaline- Tenerife dinghy sailing is definitely for you.

If you prefer more stable conditions- don’t worry! During our courses we try to use the less windy morning time to sail, often you will go on our keel dinghy together with the coach to feel more confident and safe.

What to wear while dinghy sailing?

Buoyancy aids are obligatory and are included in charter price.

Sigma Active Ocean
We advise to wear a wetsuit, or some light, quickly drying clothing. A windbreaker is usually
a good idea. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen is a must. If you don’t have proffesional dinghy
sailing shoes- you can use trainers with rubber, not slippery soles. Shoes used for
windsurfing or surfing are just fine.

We provide harnesses.

Other dinghies
A wetsuit is necessary. You will also need a hat, saunglasses, sailing gloves, sailing shoes and
sunscreen.

You can rent wetsuit and boots from us, for our courses they are included in the price.
